Put the fun back into your workout!

Remember a really good laugh, silly summer salt sessions, dancing the rain...anywhere where happiness and exertion were combined. That's a rush. The giddiness, the blood flow, the awesome feeling.
Now how can we get that feeling during a workout. Impossible? OK, yes, on a lot of days, we're not going to experience a big rush of pure fun, laughter and joy but here's a couple ways we can add a bit more fun to our "work"outs.
Get Fresh Air - If you're alone, yell like crazy for a minute (who cares what the drivers think!) With a friend...have a little joke/laughing competition.
Buddy Up - Find someone you have fun with all the time. Not your trainer (unless they're really fun!) or your competitive training buddy. Giddy laughing in the gym while doing abs is a triple +++ workout!
Laugh Tunes - Find a couple songs that are crazy funny. Place them randomly in your playlist to get you smiling during your usual routine. (Crazy frog anyone???!)
Try a Super Hard Class - Let go of your pride. Laugh at your mistakes and challenge yourself. Who cares what everyone else thinks.
Try Gymnastics - (This would be me in the one above!) Learn to do a handstand or a back flip. Can you touch your toes? Work on it either on your own, or with a certified expert. Check your area for a gymnastics gym in your area and start at your skill and fitness level.
Pole Dancing - Yep, this you can try at home, or in a fun class. You'll definitely get a lot of encouragement!
Dance Your Heart Out (especially with kids)- Hip-hop, Salsa, Break Dancing, Belly Dancing, Ballroom, or even Exotic Dancing. Who would think that dancing could be a great workout and a complete blast!?
Rush Lovers, Get giddy in Fear - Enjoy the high you get from skiing, snowboarding, para sailing, jet skiing, hang gliding, and surfing. What other activities do you enjoy that pushes the limits of your comfort zone!? Try something new each year.
Relaxation - Are you needing a break from all the excitement in your day. Many people have taken every cardio class under the sun but may benefit greatly from taking a relaxation course. Improve your joint mobility, and muscle flexibility.
Bosu: Meaning "both sides up". This training uses a Bosu balance trainer, which you can buy at many online shopping websites. The goal here is to adjust to an unstable surface. Try the Bosu in a group, guaranteed to have some good balancing laughs too!
Crack a smile today. It's the best kind of muscle workout your body can get!
